About Dixon's Hazard Response
Based in Perth, Western Australia, we combine professional insured roadside assistance with an active volunteer commitment to road safety. Discover my story, my purpose, and how I support WA drivers when it matters most.

Why I do what I do
When someone is stranded, stuck, or facing an unexpected problem on the road, they often feel alone, helpless, or unsure who to turn to. That feeling is why Dixon’s Hazard Response exists, because I know what it means to need help and not have anyone there.
The trust of the community is what keeps me going, and every job I do is built on reliability, care, and respect

My Story
Hi, I’m Gregory Dixon, 26, born and raised in Perth, and I’ve been running Dixon’s Hazard Response and its earlier services since 2019.
Growing up was far from stable. When I was just 4, I was placed into foster care, moving through seven different homes before I turned 8. Very few of those places felt like home. At 8, I was moved into group homes.
Those early years took me all over Perth, from Waikiki and White Gum Valley to Parkerville and Darlington. Very few places felt like home, but for the past eight years, Kwinana has been home.
The first group home I was in was a place of daily abuse. The second became a place I could call home for 6 years, 9 months, 18 days, and 11 hours, and it was there I realised something about myself: I was born to help others, to show up when no one else could.
I have Asperger syndrome. It is not a special skill or a disability, just a perspective that shapes how I approach life, solve problems, and help people in need.
Dixon’s Hazard Response matters to me because I know what it is like to face challenges alone. Every person I help, every roadside job, and every small act of service is a way to give back the support I wish I had growing up.

How Dixon's Hazard Response Began
It all started small. Dixon’s Lift and Shift was my first attempt, a struggling man and ute business. Even while trying to keep it going, I began helping people in small ways, looking for lost pets, reporting illegal dumping to the council, and clearing debris after storms.
In 2021, the service became Community Watch. Around that time, I met with the City of Kwinana to address concerns about my qualifications and the name implying security-related activities.
After a discussion with city representatives and a local police detective, everything was clarified. A few months later, the service was renamed Dixon’s Hazard Response.

The Journey So Far
Over the past four years, I’ve completed more than 1,000 jobs. In 2023, the work I do was recognised by the local community when Dixon’s Hazard Response was featured on the front page of a local newspaper.
That recognition came from the people who see the service in action, neighbours, drivers, and families who needed help and found it when it mattered most.
Dixon’s Hazard Response operates independently. While Main Roads WA does not endorse the service, that independence allows me to respond quickly, focus purely on safety and assistance, and act in the best interests of the people on the roadside.
I work within the law, alongside existing services where appropriate, and always with safety as the priority.

My Qualifications & Experience
Safety has always been an important part of what I do. Over the years, I have continued developing my knowledge and qualifications to ensure I can provide assistance safely and professionally.
My qualifications and training include:
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) since 2020.
- Traffic Control (TC) since 2020
- Worksite Traffic Management (WTM) since 2024.
- Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) since 2026
- First Aid since 2016, now including Advanced First Aid.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Emergency Warden and Fire Equipment Training.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's Licence.
These are just some of the qualifications and training I have completed over the years. I continue to develop my skills and knowledge through ongoing training, professional experience and practical work in road maintenance and traffic management.

Insurance, Safety & Professional Standards
Although Dixon’s Hazard Response operates independently, safety and accountability remain a priority.
Dixon’s Hazard Response is insured, with $30 million in public liability insurance and commercial motor vehicle insurance covering relevant roadside assistance activities.
The service operates under documented Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational policies, supported by risk assessments, incident reporting and appropriate safety equipment.
These procedures help identify hazards, assess risks and ensure roadside activities are carried out as safely and consistently as possible.
While Dixon’s Hazard Response is not an emergency service or a traffic management company, I apply my training, experience and established safety procedures when providing roadside assistance and volunteer hazard response.

Looking Towards the Future
Dixon’s Hazard Response may be humble, but it matters.
One day, I hope to have multiple vehicles on the road, supported by sponsorships, so I can reach more people and make a bigger impact.
My goal is simple: to ensure that no one is left stranded without support when it matters most.
Because at the end of the day, no one should ever face a problem alone.
Keeping people safe on the side of the road since 2019.
"Having Dixon's Hazard Response arrive so quickly on a busy stretch of highway gave us complete peace of mind. Truly professional, calm, and dedicated to driver safety."
